the Institute for research on the history of children’s literature in Iran
The theatre project was an initiative designed and implemented for the street children working as child labour. The client was the Institute for research on the history of children’s literature in Iran. Several interactive activities were planned for the museum of which this was one of the projects that ran for 6 months.
The design was a prop set with puppets that the children could play along from as an adult\museum representative narrated the story. It allowed the children to feel like they were part of the story and enabled them to let free their imagination and enjoy the experience. The project was meant to be hands on and interactive so the children could feel a sense of responsibility when playing the puppets and be allowed to just ‘play’, which the children involved in child labour are devoid of.
During this period groups of children from different preschools and schools will enjoy this interactive museum and learn much more about their history. One section of this museum is the “World of Stories” where the children can enjoy of listening to three stories and playing the role of characters
